Check In with Mansion Student
Moving into your new student accommodation is an exciting moment, and we’re here to help make your Mansion Student check-in feel simple, welcoming and stress-free from the start.
Before move-in day, use this guide to book your check-in appointment, pay your rent, download the Mansion Student app and prepare everything you need before arriving at your university accommodation.

Book your student accommodation check-in appointment
Before you arrive, please reserve your student accommodation check-in date and time through your StuRents account. Booking your arrival slot in advance helps our team manage move-in day smoothly and makes it quicker and easier for you to collect your keys.
To book your appointment, log in to your StuRents account, select “Contact us”, then choose “Check-in appointment” and follow the instructions. Once your booking is complete, you’ll receive confirmation of your appointment by email.
If your preferred check-in date or time is fully booked, please contact your property team directly. You can find the relevant contact details here.
Pay your rent before you arrive
Before you move in, please make sure your rent payments are up to date to help make your check-in as smooth as possible.
You can manage your rent by logging in to your StuRents account. Once you're signed in, you'll be able to:
Make a payment
Find out how to align your rent payments with your student finance (if applicable)
If you're paying your rent using your student finance, take a moment to check your payment schedule before you arrive. This will help you know when each instalment is due and avoid any delays at check-in.
If you need to discuss your payment method, instalments, or payment plan, please review the payment guidance as early as possible so everything is in place before move-in day.

If you're having trouble logging in, select 'Forgot Password' and follow the instructions. If you still need help, email enquiries@mansionstudent.co.uk and our team will be happy to help.
Before you arrive, please check that your contact details are up to date in My Account > Settings so we can send you important information about your booking, arrival and stay.

What to expect on check-in day?
When you arrive, our team will welcome you, guide you through the check-in process and let you know where to collect your keys.
To help check-in run smoothly for everyone, please arrive at your allocated time.
Your room number will be confirmed when you collect your keys.
If friends or family are helping you move in, please ask them to wait outside or in the car while you check in. Once you've collected your keys, they can help you move your belongings into your room.
Before you arrive
Please remember to:
Bring a valid photo ID, such as a passport, driving licence or student ID card.
Arrive at your booked check-in time.
Have any important booking or payment information available in case we need to confirm your details.
Ask anyone helping you move in to wait outside until you've collected your keys.
Complete your room inspection form as soon as possible after check-in so we have an accurate record of your room's condition.

Kitchen essentials, including plates, cutlery, pans and food storage containers

Study essentials, such as your laptop, chargers, stationery and course materials
Any important medication, documents and personal items you'll need during your first few weeks

Any extra fees and exceptions?

Do students have to pay council tax?
If you're a full-time student on a qualifying course, you'll usually be exempt from paying council tax during your stay. We recommend checking with your university or local council to confirm your eligibility. You may also need to provide Mansion Student with a Council Tax Exemption Certificate shortly after enrolling. For more information, check the Mansion Student app.

TV Licence
You'll need your own TV Licence if you: Watch or record live TV on any channel. Watch live programmes through an online TV service. Watch or download programmes on BBC iPlayer. This applies to any device, including a TV, laptop, tablet, desktop computer, mobile phone or games console.

Pets
To help ensure a comfortable environment for all residents, pets aren't permitted in our accommodation. The only exception is registered Assistance Dogs.
